Official Visit Following Juhu Shooting
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited actor Tiger Shroff at his residence in Mumbai on Sunday night to assess his condition following a shooting incident in the Juhu area. The visit occurred after reports of gunfire near a football club from which Shroff was departing on Sunday evening.
During the meeting, Shinde was accompanied by the actor's mother, Ayesha Shroff. Actor Disha Patani arrived at the residence later in the evening. Visuals from the visit indicated that Shroff had bandages on his arm and dressings on his shoulder and chest.
Details of the Incident
Addressing reporters after the meeting, Shinde described the incident as "condemnable" and a "major incident." He confirmed that five rounds were fired during the event. According to Shinde, Shroff sustained injuries to his left hand caused by gunpowder and shards of glass. The actor's driver was also injured in the shooting.
Shinde noted that both Shroff and his mother were shaken by the occurrence. He emphasized that while the actor was fortunate to be safe from more severe harm, the nature of the attack was serious.
Government Stance on Security
The Deputy Chief Minister used the opportunity to reiterate the state government's position on the safety of public figures. He assured Shroff and his family of the government's backing, stating that any form of threat directed at public figures would not be tolerated.
Shinde said the government would take necessary steps to deal with such threats, aiming to prevent attempts to intimidate individuals in the public eye. The visit underscored the state's response to the security breach and its commitment to addressing the underlying threats.
