20th Rozgar Mela to Onboard 51,000 Candidates
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to formally appoint more than 51,000 new recruits to various government positions during the 20th edition of the Rozgar Mela. According to the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the event is scheduled for September 19, 2026, and will be conducted through video conferencing.
The programme is expected to begin at 12:30 pm. In addition to handing over the appointment letters, the Prime Minister will address the selected candidates, highlighting the government's commitment to youth employment.
Nationwide Participation and Key Ministries
The Rozgar Mela is being organised simultaneously at 45 venues across the country. The newly appointed candidates will join several Union government ministries and departments, reflecting a broad scope of recruitment. Key organisations involved include:

Cumulative Employment Impact
This 20th edition marks a significant milestone for the initiative. The government stated that with these new appointments, the cumulative number of young people who have received appointment letters through the Rozgar Mela is expected to reach approximately 12.75 lakh.
The PIB noted that the programme is part of broader efforts to expand employment opportunities for young Indians and increase their participation in the nation's development process.
