SS Retail's IPO Details
SS Retail, a leading multi-brand retail chain for mobile phones, accessories, and other electronic items, is set to open its maiden public issue on September 16. The IPO will close on September 18, with the anchor book for institutional investors opening on September 15.
Key Components of the IPO
The company is raising a total of Rs 500 crore, comprising Rs 360 crore through the issuance of fresh shares and Rs 140 crore through an offer-for-sale (OFS) by existing shareholders, including promoters. The IPO share allotment is expected to be finalised by September 21.
Reservation and Allocation
The company has reserved shares worth Rs 12 crore for its employees. Of the net offer, 50 percent of the shares have been reserved for qualified institutional buyers, 35 percent for non-institutional investors, and the remaining 15 percent for retail investors.
Business Overview
SS Retail operates across five states in India: Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, and Gujarat. As of March 2026, the company had 503 stores in India, with 458 stores in Maharashtra, making it the largest mobile phone retail chain in West India and the third-largest in India among its peers.
Use of Proceeds
The net proceeds from the fresh issue will be utilised as follows: - Rs 241.3 crore for incremental working capital requirements - Rs 12.4 crore for setting up new stores in fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2028 - The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes
Financial Performance
For the year ended March 2026, SS Retail reported a consolidated profit of Rs 59.2 crore and revenue of Rs 2,351 crore. On a standalone basis, profit increased 49.6 percent year‑on‑year to Rs 39.86 crore, while revenue grew 32.4 percent to Rs 1,597.9 crore in the fiscal year ended March 2025.
