Societe Generale sold 5.22 lakh shares of Gandhar Oil Refinery India on July 28 through open market transactions, reducing its ownership to 0.53 percent. The shares were sold for a total of Rs 12.62 crore, averaging Rs 241.88 per share.
The sale comes after the bank had bought a 1.59 percent stake in the company a few days earlier. On July 23, Societe Generale purchased 6.84 lakh shares (0.7 percent stake) at Rs 280.93 each, and on July 24 it bought another 8.53 lakh shares (0.89 percent stake) at Rs 288.97 each.
The latest tranche was sold at a lower price than the bank’s acquisition cost, meaning it took a loss on the sale.
Gandhar Oil Refinery shares fell sharply after hitting a record high of Rs 303.15 last Friday. The stock has dropped 21.5 percent from that peak. It fell 3.07 percent on Tuesday to close at Rs 237.93, after a 13.1 percent tumble the previous day. The gap created by the July 23 rally has now been filled.
In other bulk deals, Axis Bank sold 34.33 lakh units of Raajmarg Infra Investment Trust at Rs 116.5 per unit, worth Rs 40 crore. Mauritius‑based Pine Oak Global Fund bought 25 lakh shares of Aqylon Nexus (formerly Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network) for Rs 6.29 crore at Rs 25.19 per share, adding a 0.98 percent stake.
Sera Investments & Finance India sold 18.63 lakh shares of Aqylon Nexus for Rs 4.69 crore at Rs 25.2 per share, holding a 0.73 percent stake.
As of June 2026, Pine Oak Global Fund owned 3.94 percent of Aqylon Nexus, while Sera Investments held 14.2 percent.
Aqylon Nexus shares reached a new low of Rs 24.06 before closing 0.72 percent higher at Rs 25.16 on Tuesday.
Asian Granito India also saw attention, with its shares rising 7.86 percent to Rs 57.62 on the NSE amid heavy volumes. Nova Global Opportunities Fund PCC – Touchstone bought 20 lakh shares, a 0.67 percent stake, at Rs 60 per share in a deal worth Rs 12 crore.
