Students across India are staging protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, demanding action over the alleged NEET 2026 paper leak. The demonstrations have drawn attention to the seriousness of the issue and the need for swift justice.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to the social media platform X to announce that the government will establish fast‑track courts. He said these courts will ensure swift and stringent punishment for anyone involved in leaking exam papers.
Modi reiterated that the welfare and future of the country’s youth are the top priority for the government. He warned that those who jeopardise students’ futures will face strict action.
Earlier in the week, the Prime Minister described the paper‑leak menace as a "ghor paap" (grave sin) and vowed to take decisive steps against those responsible.
The government has informed the Lok Sabha that it is ready to discuss the NEET paper‑leak issue. It has urged Speaker Om Birla to convene a meeting of all parties to decide on the rules, date and duration of the debate.
Opposition parties have demanded a parliamentary discussion on the matter and are also calling for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the handling of the controversy.
The announcement of fast‑track courts signals the government’s commitment to protecting the integrity of national examinations and safeguarding the future prospects of Indian students.
